You will find the internet, radio and TV flooded with companies claiming to provide you a way to get you out of your Timeshare! In fact you find they also dominate the top search results in google because they spend so much on paid advertising! The dirty little secret is that all of these companies charge hundreds if not thousands of dollars to "help" you do something you can do yourself as a Vacation Village Timeshare owner!
You might ask how these companies can do business like this? The answer is simple:

How do I get rid of my Vacation Village Timeshare?
Vacation Village Timeshare owners have 3 options available to them:
Find a new owner on the resale market (usually by giving it away for free)
Convince Vacation Village to accept the ownership back from you (also called a deedback)
Stop paying and let it go into default.

How do I give my Vacation Village Timeshare back?
Our first suggestion to any owner is to reach out to the resort or developer and inquire about simply giving the ownership back, also called a deedback!
While Vacation Village does not promote any official program for this, some owners have reported success in the deedback process most notably in this thread which contains some contact details for the department that handles such matters: Vacation Village Exit information
While the chance of success here is low, its not zero! It also costs you nothing to try!
This seems too good to be true, whats the catch?
While there is no "catch", there are two requirements for an owner to be eligible to use this program
Your ownership must be paid off
You cannot be delinquent in your maintenance fees
Vacation Village doesnt take back every ownership and is instead somewhat selective
If you have a Vacation Village Timeshare you wish to get rid of, you can simply call the number on the website above and begin the process of giving your Timeshare back, assuming they will take it!
It is important to be sure you are dealing directly with Vacation Village, not a random 3rd party! Any communication and or transactions are made directly to them!
TUG Note: All exit/cancellation companies use this very strategy in their own exit process so why pay thousands of dollars to do something you can do yourself for free!
If it is so easy, why don't more owners use it?
Quite frankly, it is because most owners don't know to try! Admittedly no timeshare resort is going to go out of its way to promote they will take back an unwanted timeshare!
There is also the matter of not every ownership being offered this option, and in those cases you are stuck with the other 2 options mentioned above as the only viable exit solutions!
What if I cant give my timeshare back?
Sadly most Vacation Village Timeshares have little to no resale value. Though it can be offered up on the resale market for free to see if someone might be interested in taking it off your hands and becoming the new owner! In fact Vacation Village @ Parkway has been one of the most successfully given away Timeshares on TUG over the past few years!

If you have exhausted all other options, all owners are able to exit an unwanted timeshare by simply defaulting on the payments. While not an appealing option at face value, every owners situation is different and you may discover that this is the "least bad" option for you.
